Clairefontaine artist Pastelmat offers an excellent surface to work on for pastels. The surface comes in a variety of colours and in both single large sheets or in a pad. The pads offer a mixture of colours to work on or an all-white pad. There are a total of 8 colours in the range, each sheet has a textured surface which is what makes pastelmat excellent for pastels. The textured surface is subtle, but enough to allow the user to build up layers of pastel which enables you to re-apply colour to an area.
